This is what the distributer looks like ....ugly little burger lol!
take off rotor , then dust cap and there is the ignition module , then under that is the coil .

Sucks that it's not serviceable. I don't know you financial situation but I'd get a new one. They can't be more than $100 give or take.

Sent from my overly sofisticated electronic device.

Over $400 at the parts store  $170 online.

I don't understand the "unserviceable" part ......If I can take it apart than it IS servicable :dunno:
It didnt even take any specal tools to take it apart . Just a phillips screwdriver.

I'm just not positive that it's bad ......that's the problem , I feel like I'm missing something simple .

Just curious but did you do a continuity test to the fuses. Some times they can look good but still be bad. I have seen it happen.

Check any wires going to the oil pressure sensor(switch)and make sure they're good.My burb quit one day and after replacing a bunch of parts I found(from the 'net)that if the ECM sees no oil pressure it won't let the thing start.....got to looking and found a wire had laid across the exhaust manifold and grounded out......just an idea :dunno:

Not sure if your Mazda's oil pressure sensor works the same.

If this happened after jump starting the car, it is very likely a blown ignition relay. I am not sure how to test them, but I would replace it first if it were me.
