Ok all ive been trowing the idea around of painting my 64 gmc. I lke the primer but i know it will not hold up for long. And having the top black sucks! As you all know this is what it looks like now. I like the hotrod look so im thinking flat/ satin black. but not sure what color to do on top? been thinking red or white or even going something like a metallic orange or a gold or even a metallic green of some kind? :dunno: what do you guys think would look good? Any ideas of what youve seen or somthing you thought of?:dunno:

As she looks today!

Please, please, anything but satin black. It's been done to death. :dunno:

IMO, for a fella on a budget, it's hard to beat the factory two tone. You know, white cab from the hood up (roof pillars and roof). And for re-sale, the factory colors are your best bet.

As for a color, it's hard to beat "re-sale red".

My favorites though are light blue and orange, with the red being a close third. And the faux-patina paint jobs can be done with very little tools / facilities and a small amount of cash.

Good luck to ya, and keep us in the loop!
