Dodge did a great job, IMO, with the retro Challengers, so when I heard the Dart was coming back I had high hopes for it.
What the hell happened?
Rebadging.. when will they ever learn?
I was a huge Nova fan back in the 70's and 80's. Owned a '70, a '72 and a '77.... what GM did to the Nova in 1985 is criminal!
The new Nova was a rebadged and mildly restyled Japanese market Toyota Sprinter, a model sold in Japan as an upmarket version of the Toyota Corolla.
Let's contrast that POS with:
My '72.... I resto-rodded a nice 307 grocery getter. In this photo I wanted to use up all the old rear tread before I bought new Goodrich T/A's
My '77..... started out as Firethorne Red, a gorgeous color when freshly buffed, but oxidized very quickly. I buffed the paint so many times in high school I wore the paint off of it. So we did a color change... Back In Black! 
An $800 Imron paint job in 1982. What a steal!

When I first heard about a new Dart I thought it would have at least rear-wheel drive
It nailed the dart board the guy had inside the garage on the wall.
