I have a high revving Ranger, what could it be?

That was after shipping. However, for one or two part, I would buy local becuase of the issues you mentioned. When I have a big project and saving a few hundred is possible, then I would use Rock Auto.

When I replaced my AC compressor last year, I not only saved several hundred dollars versus local parts stores. Plus I was able to get a BRAND NEW ACDelco compressor for that much cheaper than local stores wanted for remanufactured units.
But like you mentioned, certain parts cost so much to ship that its not worth it.

sorry to be off topic here but

Is that new Comp still running strong? No issues?

Reason i ask is I've read a lot about people having issues with then new ones even if it is
AC Delco because of the O-ring design. Usually about a year or two years after they put it in. I know
its got warranty any all that but they normally dont cover that. Reason i went with a Sandan compressor
when I did mine last.

I still have not had a chance to look under the hood of this damn truck. Last night on my way to work it would peak at 3000 RPM at idle then slowly come back down. So at least it did not stay there.
