Took out a 350 with a 350 turbo last sunday afternoon. Going to do my first every full build.. It came out of a 75 custom deluxe 10. Need a full clean as it's is rusted bad. All new heads, water pump, ect will be put on. I'll have to bore it over to a 355 since the motor is locked up.

This will deff. be a learning experience for me but glad I have help from a great mechanic. Any suggestion on a good brand of heads. With lifters and everything or not. Any helpful knowledge before I start taking it apart this weekend will be greatly appreciated. :tmc:

I'll need it. I'm sure there will be many choice words to come lol. I had plenty trying to get the rusted axle and headers off. :nonod: ended up using a torch lmao

Use a well known, reputable machine shop to do your machining. Check everything when you put it together, mic all the parts, use plasti gauge and get main- rod bearing clearances. Check ring gaps and adjust accordingly. Get a good book that has specs in it. I have one at home that I believe was written by David Vizard, How to Build a Small Block. I've had it for a long time and is one of the better small block books ever put together.

Have the exact book J-rod . Since my GF dad has raced over 45 years he's been showing me a lot over the past weekend. From pop top heads to dome heads ect. lol. We are gonna be boring it over, changing everything pretty much. It's been a blast so far.
