4L60e Trans won't shift out of second.

Went to check on Trans today it had worn out bands the forward ones were even worst then the reverse ones which I thought it was going to be the other way around.

He is up-dating the Trans with better parts like the Sun Shell and other stuff he is also putting on a new wiring harness meaning the one in the Trans pan he said he has seen them go out as well and being 19 years old I can see why they would go out.

He is also doing some things to improve it to shift better or more of a positive shift and get better lubication. Im hoping it will be ready tomorrow I need to get to San Antonio.

He finished my Trans and he test drove it and all was well till he put it in reverse it has a slight slip so he replaced some valve on it and he said it helped but it's still there so I told him tear it apart and get it right so today has been a week that I have been over here I also missed my daughters first communion which he knows as well.

He's charging me $850.00 dollars and he better not charge me more since that problem is why he is rebuilding it and it's not my fault he hasn't found.

He had mentioned that maybe it's the shift kit that I installed on it years ago and I told him that the problem was there before I installed it.

History on this Trans is I bought it on Ebay at a super price and I had it shipped to the Fed-Ex terminal for the s/h rate is cheaper than them taking it to ones house. Well when my son and his friend installed it reverse had a slight slip so I called the seller and he said send it back or try a Lucas so I did that and it didn't fix it but I didn't want to take it off LAZY SON is why so that was about 7 or 8 years ago but since it started having the problems with not shifting right plus it did have a slight slip when putting it in drive which the Trans guy picked because I always thought it was a full size spare tire and wheel I have in my truck bed.

So wish me luck maybe some prayers so he can find the problem so I can take off from here McAllen, Texas and drive to San Antonio to see my grandkids then back to Houston.

I always thought it was the full size tire moving in my truck bed when I took off from a stop but it has always been the Trans slipping because I took off the tire for this trip and that when he said it has a slight slip in drive as well.

OK guys I picked up my truck today it came out great im leaving to San Antonio in the morning to see my grandkids im so excited.

Total bill came out to $950.00 im happy. You know he dropped the Trans three times plus he put a lot of parts in it so it was well worth it. Now that it has the better Sun Shell im thinking of installing a Trans-Go shift kit and a good corvette servo.

I think he removed the POS B&M shift kit never get one it did nothing for my Trans the only thing that makes it hit some what firmer is a Jet shift kit it's only two wires that increase the line pressure which it does a tad.

I seen the forward band clutches of my Trans they were real worn out he was suprized on how good it was shifting other than it wanting to shift from first gear but that was a soleniod or the wiring harness who knows but now I have a lot of new parts on it. I HOPE IM NOT COUNTING MY CHICKENS BEFORE THEY HATCH will see on my trip today.
