dang!!!! 120/gallon. not bad. would you recomend that kit or is there a faster/more powerful motor that would be better?

The kit I got has been good, but it took a bunch of tweaking for it to run correctly. The EPA had set the carb WAY too rich so it didn't run very well. Until I got it dialed in it was lucky to hit 20 and had almost no power. I got the 66 cc but it was named 80cc, has to do with some chinese sizing system. The place I got it from is not worth a damn. If you can buy it anywhere besides a place based in California, pick them even if they are more expensive. I never got any assistance from them for broken parts. The loser owner has two competing sites. One is King's motorbikes (or something like it) and the other is gasbikes.net. They have almost the same color schemes and layouts. Overall, it has been worth $200. The way I look at it, I save $.23 per mile. Eventually it'll pay for itself, plus the ability to cross from streets to bike lanes to park trails. Riding it is also very fun. My hot rodder spirit has settled into geezer mode and is satisfied with cruising around 20 mph.

The state law in TX says it can't be more than 49cc but I don't think that sized engine would have enough power. I'll take my safety over state law. The cop I passed today didn't seem to mind. I waved at him and he only glared, so it seems normal. I only weigh ~140 pounds (depending on how much I ate that morning) and my river pack and filled bucket are an extra 20 at most. The engine has just enough power to pull me up hills fully loaded.

Yeah, you go from 150 mpg to 130 I'm used to being happy with anything above 13.5 babying the truck. Once you factor in the price difference from the big engine to the smaller one, the big one is still cheaper a few hundred miles down the road while also having a higher top speed, better acceleration and increased load carrying capabilities.

Na, just slap a larger rear sprocket on there and you'll be good....they go up to 60 tooth.

Engine Swap

Got tired of the bike being too tall.

I've got a 36 tooth sprocket coming in the mail (down from a 44 tooth)
I'll also be welding a new exhaust as soon as I can find a welder. The pedals did not clear the muffler...something my saw fixed real quick. I'm wanting to do a straight pipe past the wheel if I can do the welding myself, so far I'm settling for welding the same muffler in a difference position.

Thats because I couldn't go more than 50 yds from my driveway without my temporary lawn mower muffler falling off. Maybe next time

I want my bike muffler or straight pipe, the lawn mower muffler makes it sound, well, like a lawn mower.

well as soon as you get it fixed can you get a video of it running and being driven? I wanna know how loud it is. I am really considering getting an engine and putting it on my bike to ride to my engineering buillding 5 miles away.
