Got the fuel pump changed on my GF's Cavalier. Was easier than I thought it would be. Took 3hrs, but spent 45min trying to find a plug to plug the filler neck inlet on the tank so that when we dropped it it wouldn't spill all over. Had about 6-7gal in it at the time. Now the car runs again!!

This also means that I get the Z71 back too!!!!!! :D

Not 100% sure but I believe the fuel pump gave out as there was no fuel in the filter.....and I had just filled it up at the pump and it wouldn't restart. Luckily as it would turn out a friend of mine was the tow truck operator. Not so luckily was the hordes of people with cell phones taking pics...

Maybe it is just a loose wire to the pump... :dunno:

Mechanical fuel pump....and when I say no fuel in filter I mean bone dry!

Update? :lurk:

Hooked it to battery charger and cranked it over for a bit and got fuel. Then tore the shit out of our shop yard as the ice pack it was parked on was now 3" of greasey " loon shit" mud. Seems to be running fine.....I'm thinking it was a case of PMS:jester: Will take it for a longer trip tommorow if chance arises and hopefully it was just some weird fluke.

Could be leak in the supply line, sucked in some air... or if you have two tanks it could be the selector getting weak (defaults to the empty tank...)

I had these problems with my 80. :)

:rollin: my yard? .337 of an acre! Should be able to knock it out in about 7 minutes! Actually though I'm just starting a mowing service, it will be a money maker as well.
