Thanks for the input everyone. Would your opinions change if it was bumper to bumper for 2 years 24k?

See this my issue, I have always been a fan of them, 2 weeks ago, I found the warranty for a set of cordless phones that died, sent it in, and got my money back, albeit in the form of a gift card to RadioShack, and then the wife iPod dies, guess where she will get a new from...

With cars, we had such shit luck with the Durango...and even the Trail Blazer, we leased but got the fourth year covered and we needed it for a few things...on the other had the truck had steering shaft and a speed sensor and they were both 30 day, other than brakes it has been flawless, for the most part...just small issues...

Get the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic before you buy. I always test oil and transmission fluid to find out if there are any problems. Remember this series and year range you're looking at had the infamous Castech head issue. This would be my only concern. Odds are small yours' will be affected, but still need check it out.

Do your homework before you purchase and then save the $1600. Normal wear items will be where you spend a couple of bucks. Fluids, belts, hoses, brakes, plugs etc...... None of which would be covered for replacement by a warranty
