Re: Wheels - Time for some changes - UPDATE: Fuels it is! ?

And just about every post of your was "Just get the BMFs" Like you're programmed to say that over and over again. :)

FWONK BMF's. Hey, how are your new white pitted BMF wheels holding up? :uhoh:

Too bad the flat back BMF rims can't be an option now since they chip and flake so easily, you'd go nuts if you got them and that happened.

it's turned into a 52 page thread on wheels on TMC due to more off topic posts than on topic posts, it's inevitable for there to be TONS OF shenanigans

I fixed that for you.

1 wheel out of HUNDREDS of stealths were chipped and the chick chose to do nothing about it.

mine are NOT pitted, pitting you can feel. mine are smooth, so whatever it is is under the clearcoat, and it's not a huge deal. we'll see what happens with it. actually i said the Kranks looked better, and the Kranks were the ones you should have gotten, or get OVER the BMFs.

i wouldn't say tons, it's still on track.

Yeah, especially when his first post in this thread said "No I won't add anymore wheels to this thread, these are it."

How do you know several other stealth wheels didn't have the same issue? You don't. Some people don't give a damn about small nicks and imperfections, so we don't really know this. There are plenty of people that settle for mediocrity.

BTW I posted that as a beware for you, before you gave any more thought to ordering them as an alternative, figured I did you a favor and saved you from spending another $1,300 on wheels thinking they would hold up better if the Death Metal wheels kept deteriorating, they are after all only a couple months old and it hasn't exactly been a harsh winter here. The truth of the matter is, most wheels that are powdercoated from wheel manufacturers generally have a crappy finish. Wheel manufacturers do NOT media blast a cast wheel so that the powder adheres better, they just go right over a smooth cast surface which is probably the issue with the stealths. The powder does seem thin on those.

Ultimately stripping and blasting my wheels should ensure they have a more durable finish. Time will tell.

If i get the stealths it will be out of an exchange. Im quite sure others would have said somewhere that they had an issue with the stealths and noone has. Truth is we dont know one way or the other, but that is the only publicized issue and most people spending this much on wheels do in fact care. Ill let it ride and see what happens with them. I still love them more then any other wheel.
