Power steering pump H2

Have a problem with a H2,now last weekened,the second pump faild..Its only 8 months since I changed it..
Fresh oil,no off road driving..
No it did faul when the young son was backing the trailer in place.
Ask him and he claim he held it in max turn in a couple of second..

Anything else i got to get checked??

Have you checked the intro thread section? LOL it is a GM, I have no expertise but i know someone will. post an into, you'll see this isn't really a informative sight, just a bunch of brand specific flunkies.

Was the system flushed prior to installing the new pump? Might have had some junk in the lines from the first pump failure. Holding it against the stop isn't good on it but it isn't going to kill it that fast either. Maybe a line is deteriorating and contaminating the fluid. I'm not to familiar with this system, is it a Rack system?

Is it an aftermarket piece? I remember once we had to get 3 radiators (from Oreilly's) before we found one that wasn't a POS :facepalm:
