WTH Chevrolet?

When did they start using plastic in the side view mirrors? I have a habit to use a razor blade on my glass to clean the crud off, well I razored my 2011 Silverado today and the damn side mirrors scratched all to hell!

I guess I'll be looking for some new ones soon. With Red caps!

Well, it's not as though they tell you it's not glass. It's understandable that you'd use a razor on glass. I'm just suggesting you ask your service guy about it, see if he can get you another piece of "glass", or get you at least the mirror for cost or something. If, during that period, he decides just to warranty it for you, sweet!

I just know my old service writer did that for several little issues.

Those caps are removable and can just be swapped or painted.
