Got bored while the wife was out to dinner tonight and my daughter was bugging me to "work on the truck" So i decided to install a part i've had sitting on my shelf since i installed the built trans.
Not all mods make the truck faster. Some are just good for longevity. I knew that with my 2800 stall my built trans was likely building some heat, couple that with the fact the stock lightning transmission cooler is a joke at best as seen here, and it was time to upgrade.
So i picked up a used superduty transmission cooler and installed it.
I still need to cut the fittings off and flare the lines so i can run some hose, but its basically done.
Well the motor is out. I bought a hoist for 85 bucks and pulled it out myself tonight. Not bad at all, other than the 37 gallons of coolant that are on my garage floor now.
