Dont get me wrong guys, I love the Mustang and I really want to have one of my own again but I just cant get the image of a stupid kid showing off and then killing himself or some innocent people on the road.

If any kid gets a new mustang as a graduation or birthday present they better get driving lessons to match the car.

I never had that problem of getting a car for a gift. Certainly not a brand new Stang either.
Only car I ever got as a gift was a 2000 Focus back in 05. It was the top of the line ZTS for that year but it was still slow.

Regardless of it's top speed boasting, this is fairly impressive.

GT500 is powered by an aluminum 5.8-liter supercharged V8 producing 650 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful production V8 engine in the world

Or at least me thinks so.

Yeah even a top of the line Focus is a far cry from a "200HP" Stang. :jester:

This is very true Jose. The vast majority of kids involved in wrecks are not driving hot cars. Not too many kids will be able to afford one of these anyway!

I was thinking of making that point about the rice rockets but we all know every kid with a civic already thinks he's Paul Walker. I just hope that if a young kid does get one of these cars they have respect for it and the people around them.

That's a good looking car. I don't buy the 200mph claims, they will have to prove that to me. At almost 4000lbs and only 650hp :dunno:

I hear what you are saying Che but I hope that not too many parents are buying their teens $60,000+ GT500 Shelbys.
