Hey guys

Going to put a nice stealth system in my truck this summer. I've been gathering the parts. I don't know much about car audio, but I've been doing some research a little at a time. I am going to try to install it myself in pieces. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok so the HU will be a Shaker 500 out of a 2008 Mustang. I have it already and I know it doesn't have the RCA jacks obviously, so I will be putting a JL Cleansweep in there. Has anyone installed one? My understanding is it hooks up the the HU and allows the amp to get the RCA jacks it needs for best sound quality and flattens the tone so the amp gets raw signals from the HU.

I have a set of these speakers on the way along with harnesses for them. I am looking at buying this amp to power this sub along with amping the door speakers.

Does this seem like it would be a good sounding set-up? I believe I would need a 4 gauge wiring kit. Would this work? KnuKonceptz 4 Gauge

I have a feeling amping the speakers and the cleansweep are going to be the hard parts. What else will I need? Do you think this is over my head? I am thinking of installed the speakers when I get them, then the cleansweep and amp along with the sub. And save the amping of the door speakers until I can get more advice on how to do that. What cables would I need for the sub install? I know Matt has done some impressive work and I am wanting to keep this simple, but good sounding.

Thanks guys

That amp is overkill for that sub. Kicker is good stuff, but doing expect a ton of bass from the shallow mount subs. If I was going to run a kicker sub I would go with a kicker amp also.

I just got an audioque 750 amp, and I'm very impressed with it.

Take a day off, take your time and install it all at once... not in pieces IMO. It will be easier to take everything apart once versus little parts at a time. I tried the pieces way and will be taking it all apart and just spending a day doing it the way I should've done it. Otherwise it looks good with the exception of the amp.

Get separate amps. Get a mono channel for the sub and 4 or 2 channel for the speakers IMO.

:withstupid:X2 to add I would go with 2 gauge power wire and a fuse block.

I have had maintenance to do, this will be a summer project for next year. The HU is in and the door speakers are too. The 5 channel amp is sitting in my room and I still need the sub, box and wiring. I had to dropped 1k on school, had brake issues after a front brake job so nearly another 1k, and now Ford is quoting me 1k on the rear brakes since I have an issue back there. Not even worrying about it for quite some time, just too busy with full time and school and over full time at work. Money is going to saving and expenses of priority

I'm RIGHT THERE with you. I had my stereo planned for a year now. I have 3 amps I pulled from a no longer running vehicle, have most of my wire from said vehicle and installed all new speaker wire and new door speakers and upgraded my charging system and am waiting on the HU. Head unit is $250-$750 used-new.

Since then I had to replace a tire($465) steering and suspension shiz $1,500 ish ,maitenance/up keep plus life's expensive etc.:(

$2 Grand to fix the brake system(front and back)? HOLY FWONK!!!

I was flabbergasted when I found out the upgrade I want to do on my brake system is $750-$1,000.
