Nice car. My wife has a 2005 Altima. We bought it brand new in 2005, and have loved it ever since. It is a few hundred miles from breaking 100k miles. I have ran Mobil1 synthetic in it since 3500 miles up until this past year, Now I run Amsoil XL series in it. Its been a very reliable car. We have had a few problems with it, but nothing too major. First, the stock struts SUCK! We had them replaced a total of 4 times before the warranty ran out. I finally installed some KYB struts and its been fine ever since. Only other issues were a crank sensor went bad at about 45k miles, the front brakes only lasted 40k miles, and the heater has never worked right from day one. Seems to be an issue with air in the heater core. It works at cruising speeds, but it gets cold when sitting still idling or in slow moving traffic. Then most recently the AC blower resistor pack went bad. Other that those few problems, I have only had to replace the belt, battery, a few bulbs, tires, and other stuff that normally wears out.
Overall, its a great car and we love it.

We just got back from going on a joy ride. The car rides incredibly smooth. The heat works great in traffic. The wife loves the car. Some put brand new pads and rotors on all 4 corners. I think it will be a great car for road trips.

I just did the rear pads and rotors not too long ago as well. Around 70- 80k miles I think. And your are correct, its a good road trip car and great on gas. The seats bother my back during long trips (over 4 hours) but shorter trips are fine. Michael and Texas Jim saw the Altima about a year or two ago when we drove it to DFW and met up with them for some Texas BBQ.

That's what we bought. What kind of mileage do you get with it ?

It varies depending on how aggressively she drives. But usually between 22-24 in city driving and 28-30 on the highway. Before they started putting 10% ethanol in the fuel, it got up to 28 in the city and I remember as high as 33mpg once on the highway. The absolute worse we ever got was like 20 mpg.

Here it is shortly after we bought it. All bone stock except the tint. We had it tinted less than a week after taking delivery of it.

And here it is after I put the billet grill, foglights, and new wheels on it.
