Cool feature, poor display. BTW Chrysler does have something like this, it's called uConnect.

yes, but i bet it aint free to use after intial purchase.:dunno:

Chrysler Uconnect Web is a system that can provide wireless Internet connectivity in any Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep vehicle, via a wi-fi "hot-spot".[1] The wifi hotspot range is approximately 150 feet from the vehicle in all directions.[2] A 3G EV-DO cellular network from Autonet Mobile provides the internet service, and the in-vehicle device provides an ordinary wifi network with internet connectivity.[3]
Uconnect also includes a Bluetooth network allowing voice activated calling on cell phones,[4] a hard drive for media storage, a Sirius TV and satellite radio system, and a GPS system

I wasn't thinking about the web thing...just the bluetooth, voice commands, and ipod interface. Definitely not as advanced as Ford's, but still there. Also looking forward to see how GM's MyLink works. Should be a very interesting next few years with cars and technology.

Matt, matt, matt,
I am sure if it was in a chrysler product you would declare it groundbreaking

Not with that screen...

or what ever word your computer thesaurus came up with for "I really like what ford has done but just can't admit to anyone I like it cause I am a hater"

Yeah...I'm such a "hater" (<--your word) I just went out and bought a Ford powered vehicle! And have you seen my avatar?

And it actually works.

But to be honest...I'm against all of these gimmicky infotainment systems in vehicles. They just encourage distracted driving.

Jesus.

That's probably just a stock image the author used when putting the article together. Is that really what they all look like now?

The cost is pretty low so getting this display on the lower end models isn't really that horrible, if you think about it. A lot of people buying these vehicles will probably just be happy it's an option at all for them, and a cheap one at that.

Even those aftermarket Chinese-made "multimedia centrals" we see nowadays have better displays, and there are also options for Ford vehicles, so that seems to be a random stock image. But actually I must confess I like some retro-looking features on the cars...

Yes...not all, but that is out of a current Ford...one that was introduced for the 2011 model year.
