Daddy? Will the DRL's stay on if you bypass them this way? My Father in law saya he may want this on his 99, but his motive is to go stealth.:ninja: So at night, will the DRL's still be on if you leave the headlights off? If so, I'll need to find a way to bypass those as well. If I really need to, I guess I could wire a relay to interrupt the power going to them.:dunno:

Yes, the DRL's will still work. Just pull the fuse under the hood to the DRL system and that'll disable them. Easy as pie.

Maybe ScottyBoy can help out here. The problem is that this method only applies to the '99-'02 models.

Welcome to the site though!

Yes, this only applies to 99-02 trucks and 00-02 SUVs. The 03+ models have completely different wiring.

To do this on a 2004, you need to get to the ambient light sensor on top of the dash and splice you resistor in there between the two wires on that sensor. You can try removing the radio to get to it from behind the radio area in the dash. If not, you have to remove the upper dash to get to it.

would it still be a white and grey wire or is it the other two? Yesterday I removed the whole dash and I notice the 4 wires that go from the sensor. I located the c3 connector on the bcm but the wires a4 & a6 arent grey and white. any advice :(
