Washed and clay barred today. I was shocked, there was hardly any goo on the clay. First time I had done it.
Polish and wax tomorrow!

Took out the passenger side door sills only since that side was where the rain blew in. That and the carpet was soaking up more water as I sucked it dry with the cleaner. Sure enough, right where the floor raises up for the ext cab area it was holding water. Sucked that up and dried the carpet. Left the sills off, the doors open (all 3) and parked facing South to get maximum sun hitting my black seat covers to dry them out. Everything was dry within an hour.Damn, Matt. Sorry to hear!
Park facing downhill and remove the plastic door sills (three screws, super easy). Check for standing water and then you can prop the carpet up and dry it out.![]()
I did that once (propping up the carpet) when I had the passenger seat out working on my stereo (just gave me more room to work). Used a heater (it was winter) to circulate air under the carpet. Worked pretty good. Actually, it was to dry out the sound deadening material. That is what I did, and I lifted the carpet and propped it up, then let a fan blow through the opening. Worked pretty good.
Vent visors wouldn't have helped. I had the windows all the way down. That's what I did when I had water up to my back seats in the Blazer
Dried it all right out!
Get some vent visors and leave the windows open for awhile afterwards...
I do have them, but they're not going on until I get the other doors redone. No problem Matt.
Sorry to hear the issues with rain and oil leaks. The rear diff seal should be easy to do. Just have to torque the pinion nut back to spec's when going back together.
I have a normal torque wrench (not the flex-needle kind (or whatever you call them)). Any idea what it should be?Make sure you've got a good torque wrench for that... It's one of those things you really want torqued properly![]()
Should've been a 30min job that ended up taking me more than an hour plus aggravation.
So today I need to redo that and then fill it back up. THIS TIME there'd better not be any frickin' leaks!!!!
Those puppies will go up like an old Christmas Tree.Vent visors wouldn't have helped. I had the windows all the way down. That's what I did when I had water up to my back seats in the Blazer

Yeah, I had them on my first S10 and loved them. I left my windows cracked all the time and never had to worry about rain. I'm just holding off so I don't have to buy two sets.I know... But if you leave the windows cracked it'll help get all excess moisture out... With the vents, it won't rain insideVent visors wouldn't have helped.
