My Blazer has the short console because it has a sunroof. Do you need me to check and/or test any wires for you? :dunno:
Do you have the auto-dimming mirror? Which OHC do you have (ON/OFF or MODE)?

I've matched up all 8 wires for the DIC connector. 7 can be found behind the radio and the other 1 goes to the OBD-II port. My hick-up is where to run the auto-dimming mirror wires. I have been unable to find any threads saying where the easiest place to run these wires are.

Hell I don't know what I have to tell you the truth. I know it has the Compass and fuel economy and stuff. I will have to go look at it this evening when I get home.
If it has fuel economy, it has to be the MODE. The ON/OFF only has compass and temp.

You wouldn't happen to have a wiring diagram for the auto-dim mirror by any chance would you? :D

No, I don't have a diagram for the auto dim mirror. My blazer doesn't have the auto dim mirrors either. But....my Suburban has the auto dimming mirrors. :dunno: You need me to check anything on there?

Well, maybe I can look for some wiring diagrams for a Suburban then. That may (probably may not) be easier to find than what I'm looking for. I never thought about trying a different vehicle!

Thanks Scotty!

The Suburban should be pretty much the same in that circuit :dunno:
Yeah. I would think so too.

I just got home from work. I'm gonna start searching. I REALLY want to get this figured out. Once the mirror is done, I should have all the wiring figured out. All I have to do then is actually make it all happen. :uhoh: :fingersx:

Just let me know if you need me to test anything on my truck. I tested them before for Tobias because he was needing a reverse wire to tie into for his backup camera. I know for sure that the light green is the reverse lights wire.

The pink wire on my auto dimming and compass/temp rearview mirror is tied to the ignition. I remember that too. Not sure if that info helps you. :dunno:

Sorry, it doesn't help. My mirror is just the mirror (no lights, no electronic displays).

I did find this. Taken from here.

OK. So I just dug into the wiring schematics. Here's how it goes (at least on an '04 Blazer).

Black-Ground
Brown-Power (diagram says switched but it really doesn't matter, tbh)
Lt Green-back up fuse on the under hood fuse block (specifically "Veh B/U") it appears to go to a fuse which then runs to the back up lamp and park/neutral switches on the left side of the tranny
Gray and Pink both go to the outside, auto dimming rear view mirror
It appears that the gray and pink wires are for the outside auto dimming mirrors. I didn't even know those were available.

So I guess I need to find where the LT GRN wire is. (which is easier said than done since there's already more than one green wire that I'm dealing with at this point)

You should be able to just tie the light green in to the reverse lights. The reverse lights should be light green as well. Also, the outside auto dimming mirror is only on the drivers door. I think it might have a sensor in it so that when it senses bright light it automatically dims and also sends a signal to the rearview mirror to dim as well. So you may need to get a drivers door mirror with dimming in order to get the dimming feature to work. :dunno:

I'll have to find an easy place to tap into the reverse lights. Any ideas?

I don't think I need the exterior mirror for the auto dim to work. The rearview mirror has 2 light sensors (can't think of the technical term) on it. One is on the side you always look at (the glass) and the other is on the backside (facing the windshield). I'm pretty sure the rearview mirror triggers the exterior mirrors. I've never seen a sensor on the exterior ones.
