I'm now on Medicare,officially old.
That explains it. I couldn't put a tank like that in mine if I wanted too. My exhaust would be in the way (it is already 1/2" away from the spare and the shock).Filled it up. My tank is only 25gal (sometimes I wish it were bigger), but I only put in 17gal and came out to 16.4mpg. Not bad since I was really pissed off and did a few WOT runs onto the interstate to 70mph.
Gary, where is the tank on the Burb? I know your 3/4ton and a 454, but the frame is still the same length as my truck (I think). So why in that case did the ECLB trucks get a 35gal while you're sitting on 42 on a shorter frame?
It's where the spare tire would normally be on a truck, between the frame rails behind the rear axle. That's why the spare tire is inside in the back.Replacing the fuel pump is a royal pain, ask me how I know![]()
Just been driving it.....all week long.....and putting on quite a few miles, but its all been highway so my MPG should be pretty good. The truck just got dive-bombed by bird shit either last night or this morning. There's like 4 spots on the ext cab on the pass. side.

I just filled mine up with 91...33 gallons @ 4.079=$135.00(about)
Installed the 140amp alternator(what a PITA).Checked all the fluids and even had time to give it a bath. Not bad looking for an old truck.
I'm f'n wore out now, gonna sleep good tonight
