I found a 454 4 bolt tpi rebuilt with 10k that is in a 93 dually for 500.00---win? He said engine was a 95. Id convert it to reg. carb since it be going in the 63---anything you guys know about swaping it over to reg. carb set up-it can be done right? Just carb emission yank diffrent intake and thats about it right? Complete 454 engine ready to just drop in with it being a 4 bolt and 10k on its rebuild for 500---sounds fishee...The builder of it is suppose to be giving me a call. I can hear it run before pulling.

That sounds awful cheap for a running 454 with nothing wrong with it... :dunno:
But if it is true...and it checks out...that would be a really good deal...

Yea...im thinking it sounds to good to be true...He is saling the whole dually (93) with just a bad tranny-for 1ooo.oo-an just the 454 for 500--said he already bought a diffrent trk. i find it hard to beleive someone would sale a 2000.00 engine for 500.00-complete. But who knows i'll have to go hear it an check it out. I was just thinking if it was a "good deal" then i could darn near drop it in the 63.-id hate to drop 500 down then tear it apart and find crap. Iv got a few emails out to some guys on just a 4 bolt 454 block an waiting to hear from them back.

I called the guy on it and "informed"him he has it posted with 10k and 152k so what the heck is it? He said before on phone it been bored...now he says the 10k was the miles on what he done-waterpump, head gasket...i told him that's not a rebuild---yep "to good to be true" 152k he should of put NEEDS rebuilt...No "sucker" written on my forehead.

Are you sure it is a crack? Have it magnafluxed.
I thought about that-my wife who has nails said she could feel it? It starts near top and goes down to middle---id rather bore it 60 over and see what it looks like-id have him just do that one cyclinder and if it cleans up do all the rest. Id rather have it magnafluxed after the 60 over bore to make double sure it's ok to rebuild. And to be on the safe side just put some stock 60 over pistons in it an keep the compression down to maybe help it?" What the heck could of caused the cyclinder to of cracked-heat/cold? Im not going to resleeve it either. Im getting p.o. thinking about it rrrr...:fume:

Got great news-i took the 454 back to my builder who did its boring...and had him take a look-and he said o i do that mark on the cyclinder wall its from the boring device taking it out and said its fine...no crack. So iv took the crank in and he is turning it. Next step is getting a flexplate for it. He is checking on price for 9.250 pistons. Once i get the pistons and flexplate-its going in for the balance job. Man im pumped that it was not a crack in the cyclinder...
