Okay so after being HOUNDED for years by friends and family to rebuild my 1966 C10 I decided I had had enough. I put it up on Kijiji for sale or trade for a Mud truck project.
Now as its going to be a dedicated offroad/mud truck looks werent as important as they might have been for a restoration project ( which is REALLY good).

Made the decicion to trade it for a 1973 GMC Jimmy.

Okay I know it aint pretty, but half of the work of fenderwell mods to fit larger tires has already been done!
Originally it would have looked like this:

It has a 350ci, TH350, Np203 t case ( full time 4wd) Dana 44 front and a 12 bolt rear axle. Full removable top and enough rust to make the hospital keep tetnus shots available at the door:lol:

Now as for the battle plan. I plan to get it running and equipped enough to run this years mud bog in GP. Planning a 4" susp lift and 33x12.5 mud tires or 31x15 Ditch witch tires. Radiator relocation to back of truck and removal of all things unnecasarry( interior trim, heater, carpet etc)Ive also got my neighbor on the hook( he is hurting financially) to sell me his written off 01 Chev 1500 ecsb 4x4 w/5.3L so I can do a powertrain swap:thumbs:

I've decided to do a theme with the truck also, Im stuck between the " Party Police" which would be blue with white doors and a lightbar, a "ZORV" or Zombie Outbreak response vehicle which would be yellow with black caution marks and a yellow light bar or my favorite the "bull-azer" It would be kind of a real world version of a bull car from Disneys "Cars" ...set of steerhorns mounted on top of windshield, lund hood scoops with a wire ring run through them to look like a nose ring and then a tounge hanging out of grille etc etc

Any thoughts, suggestions or cheap shots post em up:tmc:

Its terrible the rust got the best of those years of trucks. I know a guy that has a mudding blazer and he has my old 1980 that is all rigged up too. I`d bet if you needed anything he may sell or give off any particulars.

Cool. Because money is tight I'm trying to built this truck using " obtainium" whenever possible. Already have a rad and a Taurus e fan from a friends junkyard.

It will take a lot of work on the body but seems to be a cool project. BTW get the ZORV theme, it would be the coolest one.
