Unless I am missing something, it sure looks like there's welding and bodywork involved.

Mopar hasn't announced pricing for the Jeep JK-8 Independence conversion kit, but there will be two versions: a bolt-on kit can be installed without any welding in your driveway and a full kit that Mopar dealers will sell, like the JK-8 pictured.
I figured it was.. but article says different

I just don't understand how the rear doors could be filled in with the bolt-in panels and yet there are no gaps or seams. I don't buy that this is what the vehicle really looks like with the kit installed.

Unless, the entire rear half of each side gets replaced. I suppose that might be the case. If so, good call on their part.

Looks cool. A company offered a kit like that for the TJ's. It was called the Summit.

Since they said there are two versions, my guess is that they're demoing the more expensive, "breakout your welding gear" version.. :dunno:
