Anything on earth could be wrong with a 35 year old trans. That's probably a turbo 350 though... unless somebody has switched it with something else over the years. Pretty good and easily fixed units normally.
It turned out to be big fat turd anyways so we didnt get it...saw a 71 vega hatchback i can get for 500 no engine or tranny no seats...decent body on the pics. This will be his first car me and his mom are divorced some yrs back and when he was 12 i did a dna test and found out he wasnt mine-crap-i had did the honorable thing back then and married her when she came up pregnant-and now i pay child sup. on a kid that is not really mine an have for yrs-but im the only dad he knows so im cont. on being his dad-he is 17 and sept. he be 18 and she is not doing a thing about getting his permit and a car...so good ol not really the real dad(me)is handling it.

Anyone happen to know or where i can find out-How much a 1975 c20 3/4 ton reg cab heavy duty camper special long bed would weigh---just looking for at least a close to weight at least-does 5500lbs sound about right?

Its gonna act like a 350 cam with 23 less cubic inches.
The cam is going to provide the same attributes to a 350 as it would a 327 or any other small block. The valve timing, lift, duration and all remains the same. If you're talking later model OEM cams, you can put a 350 cam in any small block you want.

Ok and what about if the 327 had the 305 heads? Would it make it seem to of have more lift because of the heads being closer...? Or are the heads not any closer but just the cc is diffrent and it don't change anything still?

NO, cuz the heads aren't closer. They just have smaller combustion chambers is all. All the valve train components are all the same. The physical dimension are all the same other the combustion chamber size and port sizes. Everything else is the same in related to distance. If the cam has .450 lift and 260 duration, on a 350, it going to have the same on a 327, 283, 265, 305, 400 etc etc

The 327 in the 70c10....is running-Yea! Got it started last nite and ran the valves-purring good-has 21inch vacum very steady. Gotta get a b&m shifter and throttle linkage and it be ready for a drive.
