If you don't mind me asking, how far off are you in price?

In all honesty, get the '03 even if its $1k-2k more than what you want to spend. You'll get it, be happy, and never look back.

For instance, my truck, I paid $500 more than what I was looking for (which is sort of in proportion to how much the trucks cost; $5500 vs the $14.5k the guy is asking) and I've never regretted it!

Sounds like you and I are/were in the same position. Asking our dad's for help buying the truck. The difference is that dad doesn't end up paying for the truck....you do. Luckily for me, my dad saw it that way and gave in to what I wanted.

Book retail exists for clean one owner well cared for vehicles. People get retail all the time for nice vehicles.
