Exhaust Time

So right now i have this planned:

Total Cost: About $170

Only thing is im about 95% sure i want to just straight pipe like my old truck, and i bought all these pieces separate for my old truck as well and had a shop weld it up, if anybody has anything to add or would suggest a muffler that is fairly loud and very good down low noise, please comment, i want this to sound like a TRUCK and not a grandpa cruiser

Any particular reason you aren't just going true dual straight pipe if you are going to straight pipe it? Why have the Y? I have an 18" magnaflow that is medium loud and I bet the 14" straight flow through would be pretty loud but still sound decent.

If your looking for loud stay away from magnaflow imo. I just had an 11" DI/DO put on my truck and although it is pretty deep it is not overly loud but I'm sure it will break in and get louder.

because you cant on these trucks it duals into one pipe and comes out 3" to the muffler

and i had that little muffler like your talking about on my 97 and i hated it sounded like shit

Borla XR-1 /thread. It's a glasspack so it will be damn loud but it sounds good too.

You can do whatever you want with the exhaust...

If you're using a y pipe though, why not just keep the stock one? The magnaflow one you have listed is almost the exact same size (and the difference between the stock 2.75" pipe and 3" pipe won't make any difference on a stock 5.3L)
