Believe the rear end shit the bed.:frustration:.....had to tow it to shop, hopefully will find out how bad it is tomorrow. I priced a new gear set.....$392:(
Ouch! That sucks.

Yep. Just changed the ujoints and steady bearing too. Rear end seemed fine, I wasn't even ratbagging it either....just driving along an then Blam!, trucked hopped and i was on the side of the road...had to walk a mile back to shop in -20C/-4F or -32C/-26 with wind chill. Luckily I was hot under the collar:lol:

Drove it to school and to look at taxes with my mom.

Side note:
For the last 5yrs, my dad has claimed me and my mom has claimed my brother (part of the divorce agreement for the first 4yrs and we just did it that way for the 5th). Now this year my mom wants to claim me too which means my dad looses the "head of household" claim and therefore has to pay in. Well, I've basically said that if everyone can't agree, I claim myself and everyone looses. I told my dad how much he would need to beat to get to claim me (basically giving me all the money I would get by claiming myself and the extra money my mom would get for claiming me). So as long has he can get back more than the figure my mom would get by claiming me, everyone wins. I'm just tired of being in the middle of all this B.S. and can't wait to get a "real" job and move the hell out.
Thanks for listening. I needed to vent a little.

Filled it up @ $3.19/gal with $38 worth and got 18.5mpg.

Another side note:
Been searching Craig's List nightly for S10's/Sonoma's to replace my current S10 (I want my 4x4 back for a winter beater; I have too much fun in the snow not to). It is proving very difficult to find a 5spd 4x4 ECSB. Even if I sacrifice the 5spd for an Auto, there still aren't any options (I've found maybe 3 with Auto's). However, if I step up to a Full Size (again), there are more options available, but none have a 5spd. I did find a Sierra exactly like (engine, color, interior, etc) my Silverado, but that would be a little weird having 2 of the same truck that only differed with the grill. I also found a 3/4 ton 6.5L 5spd diesel (not sure if turbo or not, but I think it is since its a '96) RCLB which would just be cool to have a diesel, but then I'd have no back seat to throw stuff/haul passengers. I also found a 3/4 ton 454 auto RCLB, but I think that would get even worse gas mileage than a diesel.

Basically it comes down to wanting a S10/Sonoma for better MPG in the winter (about 16-17 VS 12-13 I was getting with the Silverado).

Decisions, decisions.

Sorry, after this afternoon/evening, I just really needed to vent and get my thoughts out of my head. Thanks for listening! :tmc:

Drove it to work. And I noticed a bad shaking/vibrating when I drive over 100mph. :dunno:

Keep it down to 98..... :dunno:

I can't drive 55.

And I know I ned new tires so I hope that's why it shakes. Hopefully it will be smoother with the new tires. As soon as I get my tax return I will drive over to Tirerack and buy 5 tires (my wife needs a new one).
