The old bumper is a little beat up, but that don't mean it can't be clean! Tool some chrome polish and a buffer to it.

Also took the wheel well aluminum trim off, and buffed them up a bit. Expected to find some rust under there but only small dirt and mud that easily wiped off. I wish all trucks could be Cali trucks

Thanks dude. It's not often a truck can put a smile on my face. This is one of them that can. Looking out over the shiny red hood reminds me of my first nice truck, a 2001 Chevy Silverado that was victory red. Growing up, all moms and dads cars we all like white or silver....not a lot of color. I remember picking up the vic red '01 and driving it home...and marvelling at the bright red on the hood...sounds stupid but it was really cool lol.

My wife gave me a break from babysitting my kid today, so, with my 85, and 100 bucks in my pocket I took to the roads. I walked and and started the truck and saw a coolant leak. Turned out to be the "petcock" loose on the rad, I tightened it and no more leak. It was cold today, like 25. But I drove up to hill country and took in the sights. Drove past the lake and got a few pics in the boat ramp lol. Just really enjoyed driving it around. Got a lot of thumbs up from old timers. I enjoyed this day for sure. Needed it. Put over 200 miles on her today.

Also talked to the kid I bought the truck from again. Said he bought the truck from a Used car dealership here in town, in August of 06. Said he paid $5,700 for it!!! Said they wanted $12,000!!! He said it only had one owner before him, an old man who did landscaping. They told him the truck was classified "Dealer Ready" when he bought it, whatever that meant.
