Well, I've found an even cheaper method to get Mobil 1 off the shelf.

If you buy 2 cases of 6 quarts each, you spend about $102.00. Then add 5 quarts more of single quart bottles, and that adds $39.95 for a total of $141.95.

But, they also sell a 4 quart jug at a discounted price, so buy 3 of those for your 12 quarts at $86.97, then add the other 5 quarts at $39.95 and you get the same amount of Mobil 1 but for $126.92.

That's a $15 dollar savings but it's something.

Andy, stadt11, has been having his oil tested by an independent tester. His test reports have proven to him that it is superior oil and not just snake oil or marketing hog wash. But since you've made up your mind we'll leave it be.
I'd have to see all the results, how they were carried out, what type of abuse the oil went through, etc.

I am not easily convinced. Its too bad Nick couldnt have been in here before everyone else gave their 2 cents, I probably wouldve bought the oil and been done with it.

I mean I want to switch, but I just cant see good reasoning to, other than helping out a sponsor.

No hard feelings

Although the more I think about it, I might still be interested in buying enough amsoil just for the red truck.

The engine has been freshly rebuilt, runs like a top, and has had 2 oil changes in its roughly 2,500 miles. It's about to be switched to synthetic.

I see no reason why I couldnt buy 5 quarts of amsoil and a filter, and run her the 5,000 miles. Make it my amsoil test facility. Then, after 100,000 miles of amsoil, tear into it and see how clean she is.

I think that test will take you a while... since you only have 2,500 miles on it..

Now that sounds like a plan!

This truck is my first truck I've paid for myself. So I want it to last! I am planning on putting the best fluids I can in it. Nick is a great guy and has helped me out a lot in my oil questions.

I say do it
