Anything wrong with the Cat? I must've missed it.General maintenance :dunno: I know you have a loaned but don't know why

Well...kind of a long story...
I took my DTS in for service on Monday.

I reminded my service writer that it would soon be out of warranty...and to please look at EVERYTHING on the car and anything that needed to be fixed...FIX IT.

They replaced the right front headlight assembly...the right front TPMS sensor and a couple of other minor things.

Then he called me Wednesday morning and told me the halfcase seal is leaking.
I went by there Wednesday afternoon and they were waiting on the GMPP rep to come by and approve fixing it.

Then I went over there yesterday morning and they were just fixing to start working on it.
They also found one of the Cam covers was leaking so they are fixing that also.
Since it has almost 100,000 miles on it... I also told them to flush and change the coolant and change the transmission fluid.

Hopefully I will get it back today...:dunno:

The stupid HID headlight assembly is 1600 bucks to replace.
The front bumper has to be removed to replace the headlight... and the only thing wrong with it was it needed a new ballast for the HID's.
The ballast is "INSIDE" the darn headlight...and it is a sealed unit... so the whole thing has to be replaced as a unit.

To replace the case halfseal... they have to pull the transmission while supporting the engine.. then take the pan and the bottom half of the engine off and then replace the seal.
It is kinda like a pan gasket...but higher up on the engine.

Got it warmed up while I had my morning coffee, then I drove it to work.

Man I love having remote start.

This stupid CTS I am driving DOES NOT have remote start....:wtf?:

I mean...DAMN...It's a freaking Cadillac...
(well it has the Cadillac NAME on it...it ain't a REAL Cadillac as we normally think of them)

But still...no remote start on a $45,000 car??
THAT SUCKS...:fume:

Do you have it on your DTS? :dunno:

Yep...and if it is cold it turns on the heated seats and the heated steering wheel.. all automatically.
The DTS also knows if there is anything on the windshield and back window.
If there is frost or ice...it turns on the defroster for front and back window... waits a couple of minutes, then heats the WASHER FLUID to 140 degrees and sprays it on the windshield and then runs the wipers for just a minute to clear everything off. And, if I've had a bad day and I'm feeling tense the grip detectors in the steering wheel can tell that I'm tense, and activates the seatback massage unit to relax me, while at the same time monitoring my blood pressure. If, after five minutes, I'm still not relaxed enough, a hose comes out from under the dash and gives me a BJ.

My DTS is a "REAL" Cadillac... :rollin:

"Fixed" that for ya... :jester:

Drove it to work, might get it washed when I get ready to go home.

Filled it up with gas last night and was pleasantly surprised with the 18.2 mpg. I have been averaging around 17 since I put the new tires on. Hopefully it will continue to climb!
