It is not a tax refund. When my wife's father passed away around 12 years ago or so, he set aside some farm land for us when she got married. We are going to be selling the land to her uncle who already farms it anyways. We have no use for the land and we can't cash rent it (it's in the legal terms.)

Well, that's good.. Well, not that he passed, but that it's not a tax refund! If it was, they are taking WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much money out of your checks!

If you can sell the land and get rid of your vehicle payments, all the better! I think that's something I said earlier on was to try to get rid of one or more payments. That'd be a much better deal than to trade one payment for another and hope it all works out the way you had hoped.

if gas would hit $5 a gallon diesel would be like $5.50, and if it came to that i know that the economy would take a turn for the worse i think we still have a few years left of below $4.00 a gallon

PICS or it didn't happen :D .

I'm glad that things are turning around for you Jon. :)

WARNING: off subject
My uncle tried the whole "buy a car to save on gas for his Suburban" in the '90s when gas was hitting $2/gal (damn I wish it were that cheap again). Yeah he saved money on gas, but the Burb went to pot. It sat outside all the time and never got moved. The only time it was driven was for hunting and the rare occasion of hauling something. He ended up loosing even more money selling it because it needed quite a bit of work (trans, a bunch of seals, and some other stuff).
The important thing when buying a 2nd vehicle is to make sure you still drive the 1st. The worst thing for a vehicle is to sit.

yea i bought it last may, when i had my old truck, i put 400 miles on it and then i bought my new truck and then i didn't drive it ever again that year cause i always wanted to drive my new truck, but now this spring/ summer ill be using it as much as i can, saving $100 a month is pretty cool plus not putting miles on the truck is pretty cool too

Yeah, my K1500 gets 15-16mpg, S10 gets ??? (haven't had it for the summer time yet; hoping for at least 22mpg) in the summer, and my '84 Nighthawk S gets 40mpg, but I'll be driving the truck a lot....at least for the first month .
