Cussed it.

Soundly and thoroughly. :fume:

The damned shroud around the steering column is being a PITA. To replace the turn signal switch you have to remove the shroud, and to remove the top half of the shroud you have to pull the fwonking ignition cylinder and drop the column. AND, some stupid fwonker before me managed to break off both of the plastic tubes the screws holding it together go through, so he crazy glued it back together.

Now I have to find a new shroud for it. Anyone got one?

Bernie, I thought the upper shroud came off if you pull the rubber thing off the ignition switch (the part that you always see and use to turn the ignition). I did this on my S10 and the upper came right off I think. I also almost broke off those screw tubes, but realized it just before it broke.

Got $39 worth of gas and hauled the snowblower over to my dad's to clear his driveway (had 3" or 4" of light fluffy snow, but the blower just made it super easy).

Drove for the first time since I set the timing, runs smoother and feels more responsive. To early to tell if the gas milage is better.

Not rubber on this one... it's metal. And, I went to look in the Chilton's book for how to do it and this is what I found under the multifunction switch (not the exact wording but close):

Step 5: Remove the lock cylinder then remove the upper shroud.

Under removing the lock cylinder:

Step 7: Remove the shroud to access the lock cylinder

Got alittle pissed at it (the superduty), hoping its not going to turn into a lemon. having to get it towed to the dealership is a terrible start, they better get it fixed tommorow. :fume:
