I know SAS is supposed to be a lot simpler but I didn't think it was that simple, but I might be wrong. It looks like they've removed UCA/LCA/knucles. Added an axle, connected shocks/springs to axle, those sideways bars connecting by the right tire to left of vehicle, and another bar going backwards, with a steering linkage some where that I can't see. To me it doesn't seem like there's much holding that axle where it's supposed to be under there, but I've never spent any time dealing with/looking at truck suspension.

A SAS is definitely more work than Just bolting on a huge drop crossmember.... so yeah, its more complicated "to do". But once installed its a much simpler and more robust system.

yea. that truck they did a 4 link on instead of leaf springs which made it harder but the end result was much better. that truck is huge and that d60 is a beastly axle and his truck dwarfs mine.

That is pretty kick ass. That's what my truck SHOULD look like. Someday.:(

I know it's a more stout and a better system for taking abuse off roading. I still am wondering how much stock to place in one guy's word that his SA "CONSTANTLY" needs re aligned and if that's common or not.He has lifetime alignment through Sears, but with my tires and lift I don't know if they can do mine or not.:dunno:

Last I called around only 4X4 shops could handle it. Even so IF I would need it aligned all the time, seems not 2 be worth it.

IMO, if he needs his SAS truck aligned all the time, that tells me its a hackjob install.

This is a fact. Solid front axle is about as maintenance free as you get if it's set up right.
