Like the title says, I want some. I have been drooling over this set from LPP, the price is right. I am debating removing the cats and having a true dual system built. I have read that I will need to have the rear O2 sensors turned off through the tune. Give me some feedback here, pro's, con's, BS; I can take it.

Here's a link http://lpparts.com/store/page7.html

$400.00 seems like a really good price. I plan to check on the price of having them coated by Jet Hot. :dunno:

Better add in the cost of new cats. Yours will be gone when you take off the OEM Y-pipe (as you know). Exhaust will go stinky on you even with the sensors deactivated if you delete the cats. Good high flow cats and a little wiring extension won't break the bank. I've used Magnaflows on my Jeeps.

So you think it would be best to just stick with cats, high flow obviously, but stick with them nonetheless? I'll look at some prices, this is all a wish list thing but I would like to make it happen sometime this winter if at all possible. But I also want to do it right you know.

You betcha
What draws you to LT's right now? Honestly, they won't do much for you right now even with a custom tune. If you buy them you should order a new cam with it.

If you put on long tube headers you HAVE to have some kind of cross-over in the exhaust otherwise they will not work. An x-pipe is superior since you can get a stronger pulse feed, and honestly two catalysts are not going to hurt you that much right now.

A cam will definitely make the long tubes sing, but they, along with a good x-pipe, can improve the OEM exhaust as well.

I personally would like to add that true-dual setups are less efficient than a single pipe. Many people run them as a necessity in terms of fitment. If you can run a nice Y-merge into a single 3" pipe then you'd save yourself alot of weight, money, and time.

+1. And that's the easiest setup with us. All Y pipes (that I have seen - pacesetter, Stainless works, LPP, Dynatech) have a 3" exit which end with a flange into the factory exhaust...and all aftermarket "cat back" (event tho they aren't) kits are 3" :D

Does Texas have emissions testing or just inspections? I'm lucky enough to have neither.....for now :( With the current ass hats in power who knows.

Depends on what county you live in. The major cities, mostly, have emissions testing, while the rest of the state doesn't.

We had emissions testing for a couple years...it really just pissed everyone off and was closed  All of the testing facilities had mustang dyno's, and vehicles were ran at a certain speed with a sniffer in the exhaust. After the program was canceled all of those dyno's were scrapped. The state couldn't sell them because it would really kill someones dyno sales. They easily made their money back @ $25 (iirc) per vehicle test. I guess it was a good program...for the state since they raked in a shit load of cash. Greenies are a bunch of bastards.

Done ranting.

Long Tubes are just part of a bigger plan. I would like to change the cam at some point, which I know would be a big help. Burnet county doesn't have emmissions testing yet but we are very close to Austin (Travis County) so testing could come at any time.
As far as the cats go, I have been left in the dust with the catalytic convertor technology, the last time I messed with one was in 1989 when I had a Pontiac Firebird. If that tells you anything.
LPP does offer a Y pipe that is a direct drop in with their headers to the original exhaust system, that may be the way to go from what you guys are suggesting. I was planning on a X pipe set up with the duals but now you have me leaning more towards the Y pipe. That would allow me to retain my cat back exhaust an save that $ 400 that I just spent a few months ago.
Keep the suggestions coming, there is alot to think about. :D

SUPERCHARGER.

but honestley i have removed my cats, i lost some bottome end torque, ang moved the torque curve a little higher in the rpm range. although that may hurt the 0-60 time, a supercharger will cure that. :D

I have a question about the x-pipe thing, how close to the headers do they have to be, i don`t have one but my banks "y" into single after about 2 feet after the headers, does it truely have to "cross" back to a duals to be an effective "x",or is a high flow "Y" able to scavenge abit too? i kinda think so, maybe just not quite as effective.
