2yrs ago, GM had lots of CC, that they wanted to move. (before BR) and the dealer just looked it up on his computer and located it in South Hill Virginia..it arrived at the dealers in Richmond the next day!

Same as most---found it the same day I went looking. My prior vehicle was purchased at Carmax, so they gave me a great deal on a trade-in. They had a few different makes on the lot, and after trying a few I settled on the 150. Not a big brand guy---the FX4 Luxury package was hard to pass up, though.

I kinda fluked on the Lightning, was searching for about a month because I wanted a Dark Shadow Gray L, and there weren't alot for sale in B.C. So I checked craigslist for the hell of it browsed around and then I found the one I now own. Emailed the dude back and forth for about a week then made the sale. Only reason I say fluked is because the guy only had the ad for about a week and took it off and I just happen to stumble across it in that time. So all in all it was about a month in a half.
I bought my sons Celica at Carmax (God rest its metal soul)
Very pleasurable buying experience.
You can search on line and find the vehicle your interested in and they'll transfer it for you for free ( if its not to far away) They may charge a fee depending on the distance.
AutoTrader.com is good too! I recently purchased another car for the son, and found it there. The private seller was, 2 miles from my home.
Edmunds.com is another site you might check out..I researched the vehicles I was interested in there.
Are you considering only used Trucks?

I can. Have gotten my last two vehicles ('02 Ranger/'07 F150) from Carmax. Everyone's experience is different, of course. Mine has been good, though.....great prices, great trade-in values, and I personally love the no-haggle deal. I'm not a huge shopper, so I like to get my stuff and get the hell out.
