Why do you want the posi so bad? Just wondering.

I would be more interested in the 3.42 gears then I would be the posi. They really shouldn't hurt your mileage much if any and your drivability will be mch improved.

J-rod, a master install kit from Ron's is only $90. To me that's a great price considering the bearings along almost equal that!

I'm interested in a posi only because of the S10 being my winter truck and needing the extra traction. I'd rather have a real 2wd vs a one-wheel-wonder / one-tire-fire.

If I were building this to keep and eventually put a V8 in, I'd probably go 3.42's with a posi, but I'd rather find a Southern truck with no rust to do some major work on and keep this one as a more economical truck (if there ever were such a thing). Of course after my Silverado is completely done.
