I'm not old enough to remember the real old days but I remember being glued to the couch watching Dale do his thing and that was great. Don't think I've watched an entire race since his death. Seems like nascar is going the way of the NFL, both are regulating themselves into oblivion. My biggest gripe is the "super speedways", restrictor plates pretty much since I was born but it seems like every year they come up with a new idea to make the cars slower. Somewhere there's a year by year chart of the pole qualifying speed at Talladega and Daytona and it gets slower and slower each year. It's just not much fun to watch anymore. I prefer the local track where it's still about who can build the best car and hang on to it for an entire race.

all i know is harvick pwned the shit out of busch on sunday. :jester:

 That was fwonkin' awesome. Busch called him a two-faced punk.

I'm sure that will not be forgotten...I can't wait till Daytona!

Congrats to Jimmy and his Team!

We all know Busch will retaliate. Let's just hope he has more sense than to do it at Daytona.

He probably doesn't:dunno:...just another mistake he'll make!!:ohnoes:

I wouldn't mind him so much if it was earned. But it just leaves me with a pissed off feeling because he doesnt deserve it.

So, playing the SYSTEM that NASCAR setup, by the RULES that NASCAR setup and GAMING IT better than ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE isn't "earning it?" He and Chad don't "deserve it" because they figured out how to play the rules better than everyone else??

They're smart enough to go "y'know, we have enough points to get in, let's test some things for the next 2, 3, 5 weeks on the track, since NASCAR won't let us go testing anymore.. so that we can use that stuff in the Chase if it works.." But, they don't "deserve" it? :rollin:

The people who say this other person or that other person would've won if it was the old rules don't seem to understand that Chad and Jimmie are racing THE RULES as much as they're racing everyone else. When it gets down to 6 or so races 'til the Chase and if they have enough of a "lock" on getting in, they experiment and use whole races for testing stuff.. If they don't "need" the extra points to get in, why earn 'em when NASCAR is just going to "reset" everything come Race 1 of the Chase..?

Would I like to see someone else win it? YES! I would've looooooooved to have seen Harvick somehow pull out the win!

But, if NASCAR was going to "fix it" so that any one driver out there could/would win it all, it dang sure wouldn't be Johnson.. It'd be Jr! They think Jr winning would fix all that ails them.. the bad economy, the cars not looking like what's on the street, cars going airborne when they slide around backwards at speed, Brad Keselowski being an ugly mofo.. You get the idea.. :jester:
