get a single cab F150 supercharge it and get that body kit from Cervinis and you are all set :jester:
not exactly. It looks like the concept had longer doors. The concept only had a tiny little window behind front windows. Those year RC trucks have that HIDEOUS window behind the front doors. :puke:

I guess it doesn't look too bad, I would just have someone paint over that window. completely black it out!

I would love to own an '02-'03 Lightning (wasn't '03 the last year due to the redesigned '04 coming out?). I will say this though...I despise the ricer tail-lights on them...ruins the whole back IMHO.
the Gen 2 Lightnings are grouped into 3 cat's, 99-00, 01-02 and 03-04/ The 04 was listed as a heritage model, as ford carried that body style over for 1 more year. The easiest way to fix the tails is to do what I did, and paint the inside or outside(i did the inside.)

I fully agree about the Lightning taillights. They were the weakest styling point of the truck. That and I feel like Ford maybe should have dropped the L more then they did. A 2/4 drop on a Lightning has to be the perfect stance for that truck.

As far as the 04-08 Lightning that never was. Man I wanted that to happen so freaking bad! I had told myself that I would indeed purchase one and damn if Ford never produced it. I read it had a lot to do with the overall weight of the 04-08's. That prototype is still a bad ass looking truck!

It would have been an 05 Lightning, and weight was one of the biggest issues. The Roush and Saleen trucks had good power but were still slow as ****.

I have non ricer tails and a 2/4 drop and I agree, the L's dont get much better looking... :jester:

I'd slap both those bitches around.
I guess if I had to pick one based on looks it would be the older boxy style lightnings.

Pretty confident...

Those 2003 Lightning wheels were the worst ones Ford ever put on a Lightning. I like the 1999-2000 L wheels the best. I picked the Lightning even with the crappy 2003 wheels.

Weird, the 03-04 wheels are my favorite. I have 99's on my 01 and I want to get rid of them for some powdercoated 04's.

My uncle bought a 1999 Lightning and it was a beast in it's time. The 99/00's are still the best looking L's Ford produced in my opinion. Although the 2002-04's had about 20HP more. Either way those trucks are fun to drive!

Some more Lightning love:

The 99-00 are really the most maligned of the group, the 00+ have different fog lights, head lights, corners, grills, third brake light, and interior bits that all made them better. Although i did just go back to 99 grills and wheels...
