motorex screwed man y over with importing so-called legit cars.. IIRC the R32/33 were legal if the mods we done to them for safety. teh R34 is teh one motorex "said" was the same as the earlier 32/33 models when in-fact, they are very different.. got a lot of people for cash upfront and screwed them after they paid to import the 34 and could register it..
that looks like a r33 vspec, dont know why else but inporper inporting it would be confiscated... they can be made legal...
No Skylines were ever legally registered. That is why Motorex is in deep with the Feds. The sheer amount of custom work that would have to be done to the car would run far in excess of what Motorex wanted for the cars. We're talking all the glass, tires, crash testing, EPA testing, door reinforcements, etc.
The car is an R33 GTR, but there is no such thing as an R11. However, being a V-Spec they only made ~6,500 of them. A bit of a rare car.
I've driven an R33 GTS-25t around San Antonio. It was alot of fun, but honestly the car isn't worth the big money that Motorex wanted for them. I've also worked on other Skylines. They are a nightmare to work with in regards to all the crap that is in them.
It's a shame that the NHTSA / EPA is so petty about importing vehicles that are perfectly safe. The gross irony is we can ride a 200 MPH factory crotch rocket, but you can't possess a Skyline GTR for road usage.
