Man this thread full of crap.

Yeah, where's the FAILENATOR when you need him.....somebody's gotta get this back on track. :jester:

As far as the Raptor, I would definitely say it is worth what it is selling for if you want a fairly well set up "offroad" truck with a factory warranty. I couldn't buy a regular F150 ext cab 4x4 and piece together a lift and other comparable mods for it and keep it around $40k, especially with leather and some of the other "fancy" standard features they have. There is no way you could come up with a full system that was developed from scratch and rigorously tested the way the one on the Raptor was either. Hell, the Fox shocks probably run a couple grand alone.

Exactly, the raptor right out of the gate is a solid rig and will do damn near anything you throw at it within reason. It will prerun a course, take you camping, go on trails, and have a good time. For the price tag you can not beat it at all. Me personally I would buy a XLT supercrew, 4X4~$30K OTD. Figure $10k for the front end another $5k for the rear end than another $5~$10K for cage and misc. $55k for a full on prerunner or $40K plus another $5~$10K and they wil be on the same level. So take your pic, but for someone that wants to go out and have fun, tear it up some. The raptor is a great choice and perfect platform to start with. You know what you want and have a clue of what you want a stock truck is the way to go. As long as you dont tow huge loads it will suit you fine and be more of a toy than a full truck. Now with the added 8K of towing should do what you want to do as a truck and a toy.

For $60K I will buy a loaded F250 for $50K and throw another $10K at it and will hand the raptor its ass! Point blank. Carli suspension, tuned, and can still tow a house! But, what do I know and who am I to judge how you spend your money.
