Pro's and Con's?

How many miles do these engines last if taken care of?

Friend of mine is looking at one that has 130k+ on it....

good or bad idea? 2003 by the way.

The didn't have the best reputation in the Super Duty trucks. Head problems and absolutely horrible fuel economy. Many are long gone to the graveyard.

Jim got it, unloaded city mpg around 10.
I'd say pass.

I know the local Ford dealer here was replacing cylinder heads often on them. (have a connection that runs their parts dept) I don't know enough about them to know any more.

The KR's are no question appealing trucks, but he won't be happy with mileage that's for sure. Although you have posted pictures of friend's trucks before and he may be currently getting 5 or 6 mpg.

Pretty much around here.. it doesnt matter as long as it runs on pump gas what mileage we get.. im obviously not concerned about mpg... nor most my friends.. and if they work far away.. they have shit box cars.
