The driveshaft spinning the transmission will totally destroy it...internally..
There is no pump to circulate fluid in the transmission without the engine running.
Trannys used to have "TWO" pumps...Now they only have one...
But if the transfer case is in neutral... It's not turning the transmission, is it?
(I'm removing the driveshaft anyway... But I'm curious now...)
To be honest... I don't really know how the transfer case works regarding the rear wheels.
I would just take out the driveshaft and do it that way.
Then you "KNOW" the tranny is not spinning with no lubrication.
As long as it wouldn't lock up the back wheels... I wouldn't really care much about the transmission... It only has 1st and 2nd anyway
