On my last HD I had them similar to Darrens, but even more "down" with 4 inch tips. Tucked up higher though, only about 4 inches exposed Looked killier!

I may have to go outside and hold the tips to the truck so I can get an idea of what I want... then go show the guys tomorrow..

only thing I am worried about is cleaning the tip more often due to it being behind the tire

Yep, have somebody hold them for you and stand back and look at it

It happens, but a good tip will be fine. I use stainless polish on mine every time I wash. Repels junk pretty well.
