This subject is interesting.

Most of us would head right back to Brand X today if we were replacing our truck without hesitation. Most of us wouldn't even go drive Brand Y and Z before we bought another new Brand X truck... even though Brand X Y & Z all make very good trucks.

I think it's funny how we become loyal to a particular brand. I'd probably be standing in line over at GMC today if I was looking for a new truck... I'll admit it. I think Ford and Dodge really make good products, but I doubt I'd write the check for one. :dunno:

I know we have our resident FANBOYS who blindly think their choice is just "best", but I'm just talking about the average real truck guy here. Forget all of that "Brand X makes the best trucks period" baloney and tell me why we do this stuff.

WHAT MAKES US SO LOYAL TO A BRAND?

Anybody?

EDIT: ANYBODY who turns this thread into a brand name pissing match will get a weeks vacation from TMC. Fair Warning.

It's in our blood, we are raised around one brand and feel they are the best. What makes me, a Chevy guy, even consider buying a Ford? I just don't know yet, but I haven't driven one either.

It's a good question/topic though.:dunno:

I love my GM trucks. I like the way they look and drive... yet I realize they have their issues just like any other brand. The new Fords and Dodges are pretty darn sweet. I'd be closer to looking at one of them these days that I have ever been in the past... and I've had well over a dozen new GM trucks.

I have owned many makes of cars, and love my GMC, but my parents were not loyalists by any means and neither am I, if I found a truck I liked in any brand I may buy it, but I will try and stay with the big 3, Ford Dodge and GMC:jester:

In my case, all my uncles and friend's dad's growing up always drove GM. My first vehicle was a GM truck. I worked for a landscaping company through high school & college. Our owner traded trucks every year and always bought whatever brand had the newest design and was supposed to be "the best" at the time. Even then I preferred grabbing the keys to the GM trucks but really for no good reason other than that is what I found most comfortable. GM has really been the only brand I have ever looked at when it comes time to shop for a new truck. I have a friends who drive Dodge/Ford and they are excellent products. For whatever reason, I just can't see myself in anything else though. Who knows.

I think a lot of it has to do with the brand we were first exposed to but it seems much more prevalent with the truck crowd vs car or suv crowd.

I know some of our Ford driving brothers in here feel the same way about their Fords. Most would not buy a GM truck even if the two were completely equal. We love our favorites!

We certainly have some bad ass Fords on this site. I wish we had a few more Dodges.

My dad was always a Chevy Truck guy. He liked his Lincolns for a car, but he always bought new Chevy trucks. Today he drives a Suburban.

The only thing keeping me attached to GM in any way is my love for the LS based engines.
