Hey guys, so I had been wanting to get a bike of my own, I didn't really want to ride my dad's Harley Dresser to start out on. So I saw a bike siting in a yard in town, and stopped. It is a Kawasaki KLR 250, it's liquid cooled and has a 6 speed tranny. I'll tell the story and post pics. tommorrow after I get off work.

My Dad has got an 09 KLX 250S dual sport bike. Runs and drives great and is a pretty nice bike to ride. Great for in town riding and even to take out to the farm and ride around. The 250 is only good for in town, if you plan on doing any highway riding you will need a bigger bike, which is why my Dad is going to trade his in for a 450. I have to be flat out in top gear to drive at highway speed and even at that I'm only doing 115 km/h. Also doesn't have enough torque to do catwalks :naughty:. If your only gonna drive in town and or go off onto some trails it would be good though. Otherwise I'd look for a 450 if your looking into a dual purpose.

Congrats man! I had a 250 for a week than sold it and got a 450. I am 5'9" 175lbs and the 450 was hands done a funnier bike. They are not meant for interstate at all. They top out at 80 and are screaming. Yet around town and on the streets are a blast to ride!
