anyone know how hard it will be to paint a chrome bumper? Im trying to find a stock bumper and it seems damn near impossible to find a "sport" bumper which is what the dodges are with painted bumpers all I can find are chrome ones.

Will the body shop rape me on the price lol

I got my front and rear bumpers painted for $300. The best way to do it is make sure they sandblast it, then they do prime and all that crap.

Have it sandblasted then powder coated and then forget about it

i would if his oven was big enough hmm.... maybe i'll send it to halfbaked coatings:)

I was just gonna spray the back of it with yellow bedliner to prevent rust.

You will not be happy with powder coat in the long run. I have seen it haze and it will not polish out and good luck getting it off.

A good quality paint job with correct prep by removing the chrome quality paints and materials will not only match your paint, it will not haze and it repairable if needed.

My bumper went from chrome to black. It looks awsome and cost $150.00 and was done right, it looks factory. Bumper was also removed, I got a deal since the same guy is doing my 67 Camaro, the normal charge is $250.00 and also includes removing the bumper.

My nerf bars are powdercoated black and nothing I do will make them shine. Powdercoating holds up better than paint, but it does get hazy as stated.

definetly not going to powdercoat it I got looking at my yellow sled parts and as good as they look they wont shine like my trucks paint I want this thing to match perfect.

I guess my plan will be to strip the chrome somehow and take it to the body shop paint the outside of it and yellow bedliner the inside and im going to get black bedliner and spray the factory hitch with it so that wont rust either. Then I'll have a truck thats capable of towing again:thumbs:

The good thing is the chrome bumpers go from $100-200 and i can easily get $150 fopr my roll pan so this shouldnt cost me too much:lol:
