I've owned a GMT-900 with a 5.3 and I now own the Ram. The Ram hands down is much nicer in terms of intial build quality. The coils really are nice especailly if you don't really tow all that often and even then $90 set of airbags could fix that. The Hemi gets IMO better gas mileage than my 5.3 Sierra did with a TON more power. I also love the quad cab doors with a B pillar. It's a lot better than the suicide doors that the other ext. cab trucks have.

Don't get me wrong, I liked my GMC and wouldn't hesitate to buy another but this new Dodge is IMO hands down better.

Also, remember that Dodge's MSRP is usually higher but they discount the crap out of their trucks so you have a lot of wiggle room with the dealer. Depending on how much the sticker is you should have no trouble negotiating 8.5-10k off sticker.

Around here for the same optioned truck the Dodge is always AT LEAST 5k more.

Yeah, but it's easy to get 10k off and that puts it priced competitivly with other trucks after discounts.

Everybody has a right to their opinion. There are folks here that swear by their Dodge. or their Ford, or their GM truck. Personally I really like what Dodge has done to their trucks, but the resale of a Dodge would keep me away from the Dodge store. Even that is not a problem for people who keep a truck 5 years or more. It evens out over time.

Im gonna say go for a GM. The coils in the Dodge make for a better ride, but Im personally not a fan of the 4 conventional doors in the Dodge. Although the mega cab....:jaw: I couldnt believe the room in, the standard version seemed fairly cramped to me( I'm 6'3"though ). Whichever way you go you know we'll all be behind you.

If I was headed off to buy a new truck today, I'd wander over to my GMC store and pick one. I wouldn't even drive any others. We like what we like. Not many people change brands once they find something they like. I'm a GMC truck guy.

Well i see nothing wrong with trying what else is out there. You know, atleast look at the fords and dodges. I really like my freinds 06 F-150.... And my truck hasnt gave me any trouble. Ive had GM, but it was a 93 Cadillac STS with the northstar 4.6. I miss that car every day of my life, NO joke. One day i was driving to the store and some chick (texting) ran a stop sign and T-boned me. Totaling the STS. The car had 198,997 Miles on it and ran perfectly, the only things replaced were normal things like plugs, wires,TPS, and MAP sensor And water pump at 101,000 But after that, Nothing else was dont except for normal maintenance. A really great car, with the insurance check i bought my truck. I love my truck, I got it at 150,000 and it now has 172,000 on it. The only thing ive ''replaced'' is the plugs and wires,CPS and done oil changes.. The truck runs smooth and has plenty of power, No problems at all.

I just think you should atleast give a look at some other brands. But its your choice. Whatever you get, POST UP A THREAD! And some pics!

Why not also consider a Ford? Better resale than the Dodge and options a plenty.

I looked at the Ford - nice truck, but to get it equipped the way I want, it gets pricy really fast. The 4.6 and 5.4's seemed sluggish to me.

The 5.4 are sluggish. Until you put duel exhaust and a CIA on it  Mine sure improved on HP and response once I did that. I want it tuned, but not until the warranty runs out.

Imo they are still slugs with exhaust and an intake mod. And '04 - '06 runs a risk of running lean with an aftermarket intake, so stock is best until custom tuned for it.

With my custom tune, it blows away Z71s and kicks dust in Hemi quad cab's faces.

Just get it tuned. These trucks dont really need the warranty anyways

And you can't get the Ford 6.2 in a 1/2 ton... :(
