Wheels & Tires Dilemma

Yeah I'm not saying I'm going to be a LEO and go out and beat the shizit out of my truck. But at the same time when I go offroad I don't wanna be worried that I'm gonna get stuck or tear anything up. Mainly going through sloppy fields and narrow woods roads. No crazy stuff, my truck is a street queen about 4 days a week and the other 3 when I'm working on ponds and stuff I need some mud tires to get me out of what I'm doing.

My days off I wanna be able to go and play. I don't know what to do

I'd say get the 18's for when you need them.

I know I had a completely different type of setup on my truck. But, anytime I went to Colorado and started putzin' around on dirty, rocky back-roads, I was always a little nervous about the 20's I had on the truck and "those tires really aren't designed for 'this'.. ugh! I hope I don't hit something and rip out a sidewall (or worse)."

The 20's might "look" a little cooler/nicer. But, in your case, I'd go with "go" over "show."

Get 20s now to save yourself the money later when you get lifted and throw 35s on it. 20s vs 18s off-roading won't be a huge difference. 2" diameter. If you hit something that's going to $#%! them up chances are you won't be any safer with 18s.

Yeah, I actually had two sets.. But, I liked how the 20's did on the 900+ miles each way on the highway vs. the couple-hundred I ran on the back roads, after I got there.. So, I never swapped the 18's back on..

This is just me and how I am about jacking with stuff... But, *I* wouldn't want to be swapping wheels out every few days, if I were doing what Jeff is talking about doing..
