I decline to take part in this. If my briggs and stratton engine dont have enough power then I'll bore it to 30 over. Briggs, Tecumseh, etc. and other mower engine companies offer over sized piston and ring sets .010, .020, .030.

Yeah but that $75 will take care of the boring and cost of pistons and rings. Or just strap a turbo to it!

Damn...now I'm really PO'ed...maybe I should sue Ford over building a 302cc V-8 Mustang that they called a 5.0 L. ...

Regarding the mower engines. I'll probably sit this one out....

Assuming that the responses here are somewhat representative of the responses that the general public will have, it seems about half won't be interested in collecting their share of the settlement.

That means that, after a year, the judge in the case has to decide what to do with any money left unclaimed. Since the settlement was for $65 million, and the law firm that was assigned the case has already voluntarily limited how much they'll accept for their work, I estimate there'll be about $20-25 million left over.

It'll be interesting to see what she decides to do with that surplus. Legally it cannot be returned to the manufacturers so... What to do with it?

It's a Federal court, so I suppose the Feds will just keep it.

Part of me says it's one of those frivolous lawsuits perpetuated by some greedy lawyers.

Something to consider is that it was a court in New Mexico that made it a class action, and it was a Federal court in Wisconsin that combined all the different cases from some twenty different states into one and assigned a law firm to represent the class. It's not like the law firm came up with this on their own.
